Good morning, fam!
July was a busy month for my art world. From starting a new project to expanding my line art practice in a larger scale to making some big decisions about where I’m going next, I have to admit feeling somewhere between proud and exhausted.
So in case you’re new to this substack or missed a few posts along the way, I thought this wrap-up would be a good way to show you what I’ve been up to.
Let’s go!
Black Sketchbook Project

New sketchbook? Who dis?
After getting a new black paper sketchbook, I decided I wanted to challenge myself and make it one big project. A rather large undertaking, as this was a relatively new medium for me, and I have a history of not finishing sketchbooks (or at least having far too many scribble pages).
It’s crazy, but I posted thirteen different articles so far. Posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ve taken different pages, sometimes two or three, and talked about them in relatively short articles.
Kaiju No. 8
On Tiktok, I shared the initial progress of my Kaiju No. 8 larger line art project, and it broke 800 views! I haven’t done that over there in YEARS!
When I posted the final ‘how does this turn into this’ video, it got to 780. That’s insane!
More Work From July
My Sticker Club is holding at five members, which is nice! My original goal was 100 by the end of the year, but I’m not going to reach that, not in this economy, and I’ve made peace with that. I’m always open to new members, if you’re interested!
So You Want to Take Commissions - Originally written after ElderSpawn’s friend asked him for information about taking commissions, I compiled this article from things I wish people had told me back in the day when I was taking them.
Oh, and while it’s not art-related, I have started a one-a-week ghost story series on my other newsletter, Mentally Flossed. All based on my own true experiences, I think you’ll really enjoy them, if that’s your thing!
Until next month!
Bye!
