Hey, thanks for popping in today, fam! Here are the next four pages from my black sketchbook project.

Clearly, the thought here was as many lines as I could draw. *lol* So let’s break it down, shall we?
I was trying out the idea of making the background lines versus my normal process of filling the ghosties in. I like how it came out for the most part, but I feel like this was more an exercise than a final piece?
I did this one three days later, and I like the ‘arms’ of the jellyfish, but not the head. And while the lines are a nice idea with the blue lines, these felt messy, which is why I think I didn’t fill the whole page with them. Not terrible, but not my favorite so far in this project.

While the digital version is better, this was the original concept, and I am really happy with it! Especially that cocoon! This is a great addition to my sprite collection, and it was met with great commentary.

I drew this as an update to an old coloring book page from 2016. But after years of drawing octopuses, I just didn’t like my freehand of the tentacles. So I didn’t finish it. Maybe I’ll go back later. Maybe I’ll go over everything with my black mop marker and start over. Guess we’ll see.
Hey, I appreciate each of you who get these and reads them. I know it’s really new, and I don’t have a lot of content up right now, but I’m excited to grow this substack. Both to keep drawing for this project and also for my sanity (and maybe it helps you, too).
Until next time!
