How one of the biggest sticker companies shot themselves in the foot

Given how much traction my original article received and the issues came to light with the StickerMule CEO, Anthony Constantino after the assassination attempt of Trump, I thought it best to update this article accordingly.
Trump Assassination Attempt
On Saturday, July 13, 2024, a 20 year old man attempted to assassinate Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania from a rooftop of a nearby building. The bullet grazed the top of Trump’s right ear, and the shooter was shot dead within seconds.
As to be expected, the internet exploded.
Unexpectedly, the reaction wasn’t necessarily what a lot of people expected. Who thought there would be a lot of calls for less hate and unity from the right?
Imagine my surprise to see an email and a text notification from StickerMule with a statement. Mr. Constantino had popped out on X with an interesting tweet:
Pros?
He called for unity and peace. No more political hate.
He pointed out that his company has employees who support Biden and Trump.
He said no one should have to die and sacrifice the happiness
Cons?
Well… there are a lot:
COMPANY ASSETS
He used the company email, text list and X account to do this. Yes, he owns the company — or as he says throughout the comments, a hot sauce company — but it’s not professional. This should’ve stayed on his personal account.
TRUMP SUPPORTERS SCARED
People are terrified to admit they support Trump. I’ve been scared myself. Really? Because in the wild, I’ve seen the exact opposite and loudly and proudly so. If they’re ‘scared’ of anything, it’s the existence of the rest of us. And books. And history. But not their support of the former President.
For all the women, POC, the LGBTQIA+ , non-Christian (or the ‘wrong’ kind), or any other marginalized community in this country, we are exhausted by the adamant and clear attempts to erase us from existence through legislation.
POLITICAL HATE NEEDS TO STOP
Oh, now? Now? The rest of us have been asking for this since, what, 2016? Because of Trump. Since January 6th, 2020. Because of Trump. Why is there no record of Mr. Constantino saying Trump should stop his vitrole?
We know why.
AWESOME PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD LOVE TRUMP
They aren’t awesome people if they support Trump, book bans, trans & homophobia, are anti-women’s health, and all the othering policies that degrade and directly hurt people who are also constituents.
Because when you serve in our politics, you’re supposed to serve all of us, not just your base.
His Responses, However
I’ll be honest: The overall intention of the statement was good. I can get behind the whole ‘stop the political hate’. Even with the sprinkle of pro-Trump rhetoric. Part of me even understands that not all Republicans are ardent supporters of the former president.
Last night, I hadn’t reconsidered my patronage with StickerMule. But after I woke up to his tone deaf responses to customers walking away, I cannot in good faith continue.
I have deleted all my content on my account and sent an email to them to have them cancel my account. It’s nothing to them, I know, my little orders compared to the multiple big companies I saw dropping million dollar orders in the comments of his tweet. Plus he’s made it crystal clear that he doesn’t care if we go.
It is what it is.
I will not think less of anyone who stays with them. It’s a personal decision. And in this economy, I get picking their deals. I will be trying some new companies, and I’ll post soon about my thoughts on those.
