He's pink. And smol. And I love him.

Morning, fam.
Let’s talk about my favorite smol, pink doggo, Courage. As a Gen Xer, Courage the Cowardly Dog was an integral part of my early parenting years. Debuting in 1999 on Cartoon Network, this guy crawled his way right into my heart.
Probably to get away from something scary as he tried to figure out how to save Muriel. Again. My original anti-hero, Courage never wanted to save his little corner of Nowhere, but he loved Muriel (and she loved Eustice), so saving he did. As someone who has often found herself in a similar predicament, this silly show’s good guy resonated.
Over the last few years, I have drawn a couple of versions of him.
Drew him as part of an art challenge I gave myself in 2023. And his facial expression so much. Somewhere between ‘again?’ and exhaustion, right? I liked it so much that I took it over to a digital art form.
Somehow, when I drew him on my computer, the snark got snarkier, and it screamed ‘Courage is over all this bullshit’. So what better to express that, er, expression than a throne and a crown. (Remember how I tell you we win or we learn? Getting him into that chair had a definite learning curve!)
When I got stuck one day during my current challenge, I decided to draw him again.
This time he came out sad and a little… ghostly? Like a stereotypical floating through your house moaning ghost, yanno?
Let me know what you think! Which one is your favorite?
Don’t forget! If there’s something you’d like to see me draw, something you’d like to see in this project, let me know in the comments!
Thanks again for being here and checking out my work!
Until next time! So much more art to come every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
